2018 Training: Year in Review

By January 3, 2019FirstLink

2018 was a record year for the FirstLink training team. We reached nearly 6,000 people with our trainings and presentations, including 2,391 students through our Suicide Education Outreach program. FirstLink worked with the North Dakota Emergency Medical Association to offer some of the first Mental Health First Aid for Fire and EMS professional courses in the country. We were also fortunate to be able to train more of our staff as instructors in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Mental Health First Aid. This will allow us to provide more of these trainings to the community.

In 2019, we are looking forward to offering a new training opportunity called 2-1-1 University. At 2-1-1 University database staff will share tips and tricks including how to search and find resources through our online database, information on our texting services, trainings offered by FirstLink, and more! In addition, staff will highlight important trends, requests, and types of contacts from previous years. 2-1-1 University is free and open to the public. We simply ask for advance registration.
